DAILYWORLD.COM DAILY 5A GRAND COTEAU Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau for Phyllis Boxie, age 97, the former Phyllis Williams, who passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:02 a.m. at her residence in Grand Coteau. Interment will be in St.

Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Mrs. Boxie was a native and lifelong resident of Grand Coteau. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Elmo Boxie and his wife, Janet, of Arnaudville; five daughters, Doris Hardy and her husband, Joseph, of Port Arthur, TX, Shirley Bossier and her husband, Elton, of Houston, TX, Alice Coleman and her husband, Samuel, of Shreveport, Catherine Veazie and Debra Boxie, both of Grand Coteau; twenty one grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; one brother, Morris Williams and his wife, Margie, of Ville Platte; three sisters, Josephine Mamou of Marksville, Juanita Green of Lake Charles and Dorothy Guidry of Grand Coteau; and one special niece, Zula Comeaux of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Boxie; her parents, Joseph Williams and the former Phyllis Barnaba, both natives of Grand Coteau; one son, Xavier Boxie; one daughter, Glenda Guilbeau; two brothers; four sisters; one grandson, Joseph Hardy; and one great granddaughter, Brianna Pierre. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m.

Melissa Green Chambers PORT BARRE Funeral services for Mallory Bielawski will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, in New Life Center Church of Port Barre, LA.

Rev. Joe Russo will officiate the services. Mallory was a native of New Britain, Connecticut, and a longtime resident of Port Barre, Louisiana. She passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at her residence at the age of 26. She was a 2007 graduate of Port Barre High School.

She worked at the Arc of Acadiana- St. Landry in Grand Coteau. She enjoyed listening to music, working with beadings, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Barbara Bielawski and stepfather, Robert Artigue, Jr. of Port Barre; step grandmother, Norma J.

Artigue of Port Barre; step grandparents, Robert Artigue, Sr. and Joy Artigue of New Iberia; brothers, Jarred Artigue and wife, Paula of Port Barre; and Jaymin Artigue of Port Barre; sisters, Kristi Artigue of Connecticut; and Tara Dunne of New York City, NY; nephews and nieces, Jarred Artigue, Blake Artigue, and Emily Carriere; aunts and uncles, Thomas Meade and Martha Meade, Carter Adams and Sharon Adams, Sheila Meade, Kevin Meade, Mary Beth Sherman and Michael Sherman, Alan Bielawski and Cynthia Bielawski, Elizabeth Ortego and Timothy Ortego, and Mark Bielawski, and her cousins, Matthew, Sean, Meaghan, Deanna, Kris, Holly, Zach, Gabe, Will, Hunter, Kamin, Mark, Kevin, and Katelyn. Mallory Bielawski OPELOUSAS A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lawrence Darbonne at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

Reverend Gregory Simien will celebrate the Mass. Rite of committal will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Darbonne, age 83, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at his residence. Lawrence retired from Offshore Company after 30 years of service.

He took much pride in his garden and was an avid football fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lawrence will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Craig Darbonne and wife, Michele, of Port Barre, LA; Sean Darbonne and Katie, of Opelousas, LA; his daughter, Kelly Cormier, of Opelousas, LA and his sister, Elta Darbonne of Metairie, LA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Nicholas Cormier, Blake Cormier, Brooke Brown, Britni Darbonne, Lexi Darbonne, Sean Darbonne, London Darbonne, Kylie Darbonne, Sienna Darbonne and five great-grandchildren, Madison Enos, Brayden Brown, Hayden Brown, Kaylee Brown and Alivia Cormier.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Darbonne; his parents, Pierre and Aledia Darbonne; three sisters, Bertha Darbonne, Mary Deville, Eva Leger and four brothers, Joseph Darbonne, Yves Darbonne, Milton Darbonne and Horace Darbonne. Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, January 8, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Donny Leger, Sean Darbonne, Blake Cormier, Michael Brown, Paul Leger and Brad Care.
