Mrs. Bailey, a retired teacher, secretary and homemaker, died Monday, January 29, 2001, in Westminster Village in Spanish Fort, Ala. She was born in Bunkie and in her lifetime resided in several locations including Bunkie, Opelousas, Tallulah and Covington, all located in Louisiana; Harlingen, Texas, and Spanish Fort, Ala.

She was a graduate of Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. Mrs. Bailey was an active volunteer worker for civic and charitable organizations including the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. She was a state and national officer in the Daughters of the American Revolution and was particularly proud of being listed in Who's Who of America for her services to civic and charitable organizations. Mrs.

Bailey was married to Robert L. Bailey who preceded her in death, and is survived by two sons, Pearce Bailey of Sandler, Texas, and Robert L. Bailey III of Covington; and her grandchildren, Charlotte Susan Bailey of Tampa, and Marshall Pearce Bailey Jr. of Plano, Texas. The family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, Division of Philanthropy, 1516 Jefferson Highway, New Orleans, La.

Darby, a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Sunset, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. She had been a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Survivors include: her husband, Armond Irving Darby of Sunset; five sons, Ronald James Darby and his wife Debbie of Rayne, Robert Darby and his wife Lois of Carencro, Roy Allen Darby and his wife Judy of Scott, Terry Wayne Darby and his fiancee Nicky of Shreveport and Derwin Darby and his wife Del of Carencro; two daughters, Annette Trahan and her husband Russell of Scott and Jeanette Kidder and her husband Robert F.

of Arnaudville; 17 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and three sisters, Vivian Olivier, Lorita Trahan and Velma Blanchard and her husband Alvin of Arnaudville. Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by a son, Charles Darby; her parents, Armand Lagrange and the former Corine Savoy; a brother, Randolph Lagrange; and two sisters, Vercy Lanclos and Yola Olivier. Visiting hours will be observed from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
